The Dairy Queen® system is celebrating a 30-year partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® (CMN Hospitals), during which time local restaurants have raised more than $100 million for local hospitals, with the Ninth Annual Miracle Treat Day set for Thursday, August 14 at participating Dairy Queen® locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.

On Miracle Treat Day, $1 or more from every Blizzard® Treat sold at participating locations will be donated to CMN Hospitals, which raises funds to help save and improve the lives of kids treated at 170 children’s hospitals across the U.S. and Canada.

“This is a big year for us as we top $100 million in donations to CMN Hospitals. We couldn’t be prouder of our franchisees that have supported this great cause over the last 30 years,” said John Gainor, president and CEO of International Dairy Queen, Inc. (IDQ). “Miracle Treat Day is really the culmination of a year filled with local activities and initiatives that raise awareness and funds for hospitals in our local communities.”

Miss America 2014 Nina Davuluri, a national goodwill ambassador for CMN Hospitals, will serve as this year’s honorary spokesperson for DQ Miracle Treat Day. Miss America titleholders have been involved with CMN Hospitals by visiting and raising funds for member hospitals since 1989.
The featured Miracle Treat Day “Blizzard of the Day” will be Oreo®, which is still the most popular Blizzard Treat to date. The Blizzard of the Month for August, the new Chips Ahoy!® Blizzard Treat, as well as all other Blizzard Treat flavors, will be available on Miracle Treat Day.
